Cricket Australia will pour an extra $4 million into developing the women's game.

It includes a "growing cricket for girls" fund which aims to create competitions for girls aged 11 to 18.

The four-year program onnounced on Wednesday will also involve fulltime development staff across Australia as women's cricket enjoys a boom in popularity.
