Stephen O'Keefe has been confirmed in Australia's XI for the first Test against Sri Lanka starting in Kandy on Tuesday.

At a press conference on Monday at Pallekele Stadium, Australian captain Steve Smith said the left-arm finger spinner would play alongside right-arm offspinner Nathan Lyon.

Smith said the wicket looked dry which prompted them to include O'Keefe ahead of fast bowler Jackson Bird.
