Aussie paceman Peter Siddle is eyeing a return to Test cricket in November insisting he's over the back and ankle problems that have ruled him out of baggy green selection for Sri Lanka.

Visiting Hobart on Thursday to promote Australia's Test match against South Africa at Bellerive Oval in November, the 31-year-old said he's started back bowling and hopes to be ready for October's Matador Cup in the lead up to his international return.

"I know when I'm at my best I'm one of the best howlers in the country and this time (off) has given me some time to freshen up ... and get ready for a big summer of cricket," he said.
